Welcome to Mississippi (MU State) Kappa Kappa Iota’s website.  MU State is one of twenty-one state chapters of the National Kappa Kappa Iota educators’ organization!  The purpose of this organization is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being the oldest organization for educators in the United States with emphasis on philanthropy, professional development, networking and scholarships.

MU STATE Executive Committee Spring Meeting (Saturday, February 15, 2025)

Location: Lake Tiak O Khata, 1290 Smyth Lake Road, Louisville, MS 

  • Begins at 10:30 am in the VIP room (off of the Flamingo room), Mu State Executive Committee Meeting will include Mu State Executive Officers, State Committee Chairs, Past State Presidents, and Local Chapter Presidents.  Dutch treat for lunch buffet. 
  • During this meeting, Mu State Nominating Committee to report a slate of proposed nominees for the 2025-2026 Mu State Executive Officers, also finalize plans and reports for the April 2025 Mu State Convention

Regarding hotel room, you will need to contact Lake Tiak O Khata directly (662-773-7853) to reserve a room if you are coming in on Friday night for no block of rooms has been reserved.
