About Us

Welcome to Mississippi (MU State) Kappa Kappa Iota’s website.  MU State is one of twenty-one state chapters of the National Kappa Kappa Iota educators’ organization!  The purpose of this organization is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being the oldest organization for educators in the United States with emphasis on philanthropy, professional development, networking and scholarships.

MU STATE FALL WORKSHOP
(Friday, August 21 -Saturday, August 22, 2026)
LOCATION: Chalybeate Baptist Church (2460 Hwy 354, Walnut, MS)

Friday, August, 21, 2026 (Chalybeate Baptist Church)
• 6 p.m. -Mu State Executive Committee Meeting includes Mu State Officers, State Committee Chairs, and Past State Presidents (meeting begins with a meal to be served) 

• Saturday, August 22, 2026: (Chalybeate Baptist Church) 
• 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Registration and Continental Breakfast 
• 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mu State Fall Workshop

HOTEL RESERVATIONS: Reserve your hotel room at Hampton Inn in New Albany, MS. Call the hotel directly at 662-534-7722 and reference the Kappa group block name by no later than Wednesday, August 19th. 

Double room occupancy is $128 (Complimentary breakfast is available at the hotel)
