About Us
Welcome to Mississippi (MU State) Kappa Kappa Iota’s website. MU State is one of twenty-two state chapters of the National Kappa Kappa Iota educators’ organization! The purpose of this organization is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being the oldest organization for educators in the United States with emphasis on philanthropy, professional development, networking and scholarships.

MU STATE KAPPA CONVENTION

Friday, April 28, 2023:
- 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Pre-Convention Tour—Historic Corinth Depot and Crossroads Museum
(221 N Fillmore St., Corinth, MS) along with rooftop view at the Conservatory-all who wish to tour the Depot & Museum will need to meet at the actual location - 6:45 p.m.-7:45 p.m. “Dinner/Welcome Reception” at First United Methodist Church
(3161 E. Shiloh Rd, Corinth, MS) - 8:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Mu State Executive Committee Meeting (includes Mu State Officers & State Committee Chairs) at First United Methodist Church
Saturday, April 29, 2023:
- 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Registration and refreshments—Pizza Grocery (800 Cruise St., Corinth, MS)
(Bring Local Chapter StoryBoard and 2 silent auction items per chapter)
Local Chapters: Turn in completed Eudora Kemp Chapter of the Yearform to Gale Taylor at the Registration Table (pg. 50 of the 2022-2023 Mu State Local Chapter President’s Handbook) - 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Mu State Convention
Hotel Reservations: Please reserve your hotel room at Hampton Inn-Corinth (662-286-5949) no later than Friday, April 14th. Address is 2107 Highway 72 West, Corinth, MS. To receive a group rate of $114 (plus tax) which is a total of $124.26, you will need to state Kappa Kappa Iota as your reservation code when making a hotel reservation. Guests receive a free hot breakfast.
Please complete the Registration form (click on form) and mail to Gale Taylor, Registration Chair, along with $40 (Saturday only) OR $45 (Friday & Saturday) registration fee by Friday, April 14th.
