Welcome to Mississippi (Mu State) Kappa Kappa Iota’s website. Mu State is one of twenty-two state chapters of the National Kappa Kappa Iota educators’ organization! The purpose of this organization is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being the oldest organization for educators in the United States with emphasis on philanthropy, professional development, networking and scholarships.

Mu State Held its First Virtual State Meeting on 8-21-2020 due to COVID-19.
The 2020-2021 Mu State Executive Officers were duly installed. Mu State Committee Chairs gave reports and shared exciting goals for the upcoming year! Mu State President Andrea Barrett will be holding a Virtual meeting for Local Chapter Presidents soon and Mu State Treasurer, Jan Eastman, will be reaching out to Local Chapter Treasurers to determine a date for Virtual Meeting for Local Chapter Treasurers.
